Skin Tightening

What is Fibroblasts Skin Tightening

Fibroblast skin tightening, also known as plasma fibroblast therapy, is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure designed to improve the appearance of skin by tightening and reducing wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging. It uses a handheld device that creates a small electrical arc (plasma) to stimulate fibroblast cells in the dermis, which are responsible for collagen and elastin production. This stimulation promotes skin regeneration and tightening.

Benefits of Fibroblast Skin Tightening

HOW IT WORKS

1. Plasma Energy: The device generates a small plasma arc when held close to the skin, which creates tiny controlled injuries (micro-trauma) on the surface.

2. Stimulates Healing: These micro-injuries trigger the body’s natural healing process, encouraging the production of collagen and elastin.

3. Tightening Effect: As the skin heals, it contracts and tightens, leading to a firmer and smoother appearance.

4. Long-Term Benefits: Over time, increased collagen production helps maintain the results and improve skin elasticity.

What is Fibroblast Skin Tightening?

Fibroblast Skin Tightening (also known as Plasma Pen treatment) is a non-surgical skin rejuvenation procedure that uses a plasma arc to create tiny controlled micro-injuries on the skin’s surface. This stimulates fibroblast cells in the deeper layer of the skin to produce new collagen and elastin, resulting in a firmer, smoother, and more youthful appearance

What areas can be treated?

Fibroblast Skin Tightening is versatile and can treat many areas, including:

  • Upper & lower eyelids (non-surgical blepharoplasty)
  • Crow’s feet
  • Forehead lines & frown lines
  • Nasolabial folds (smile lines)
  • Neck & jawline
  • Stomach & stretch marks
  • Scars & skin tags (where appropriate)

How long do results last?

Results can last up to 2–3 years depending on the individual, skin type, lifestyle, and natural ageing process. Maintenance treatments may be recommended every 12–18 months for optimal results.

Is there any downtime?

Yes. You may experience redness, swelling, and small crusts (carbon dots) in the treated area for around 5–7 days. These naturally fall off as the skin heals. Most clients return to normal activities within a week, but full skin healing and collagen production continues for several weeks.

Does it hurt?

A numbing cream is applied before treatment to keep discomfort minimal. You may feel a light stinging or heat sensation during the procedure.

How soon will I see results?

Some tightening is visible immediately, but the most noticeable improvements develop over 8–12 weeks as collagen and elastin production increases.

Is Fibroblast Skin Tightening safe?

When performed by a trained, insured professional, the procedure is considered safe. It is non-invasive, with no cutting, stitching, or general anaesthetic. As with all treatments, there are risks, which will be discussed during your consultation.

Who is not suitable for this treatment?

Fibroblast is not recommended for:

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding clients
  • Those with pacemakers or metal implants near the treatment area
  • People with uncontrolled diabetes, epilepsy, or active skin infections
  • Those prone to keloid scarring or hyperpigmentation

A full consultation is required to assess suitability.

How should I prepare before my appointment?

Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and chemical peels for at least 2 weeks before treatment. Do not apply skincare containing retinol, AHAs, or BHAs to the area for 5 days prior.

What aftercare is required?

  • Keep the area clean and dry
  • Do not pick or scratch at carbon crusts
  • Avoid makeup on the treated area until fully healed
  • Use SPF 30+ daily after healing
  • Avoid swimming, saunas, and intense exercise for 7 days
